The political organization, “Friends of Brumskine” (FOB), has disclosed its plans to form a political party to contest the scheduled general elections in October this year.

According a FOB release quoting its Information Officer T. Sensee Senwah, the political advocacy group of presidential aspirant Charles Walker Brumskine, their desire to organize a political party is in line with the Liberian constitution.

The release also said that the National Elections Commission (NEC) has already been informed of the group’s desire to organize its own political party.

The group indicated that while it is working behind the scene to ensure that the party is registered, membership of the proposed “United Democratic Party” (UDP) would be open to all Liberians.

Meanwhile, the FOB release revealed that its decision to form the UDP is in recognition of the crucial nature of the upcoming plebiscite, and its desire to provide quality institutional-political leadership to the Liberian nation and people.
