A Forum for interested parties to discuss the Vai Script and the details associated with its encoding into the Unicode Standard, will gather at New York University this April. Topics for discussion include include sort order, character properties, and romanization.

Participants in this collaborative workshop will include Michael Everson, Everson Typography; Dr. Mohamed Nyei, NYU; Dr. John V. Singler, NYU; Dr. Konrad Tuchscherer, St. John's University; and José R. Rivera, UCLA; and Charles L. Riley, Yale University.
We encourage all interested persons to participate - all input is welcome!

We will convene on:
April 13, and 14
from 1 - 5 pm

April 15, from 1 - 5 pm

To register for the workshop, please send an e-mail to with your contact information, level of interest, familiarity with the script, personal uses of the script, if any, and any other information that you may feel is pertinent.

If you would like to participate, but cannot join us in person, include with your registration a list of the technical resources you have available, i.e., type of computer, operating system, speed of your internet connection. We hope to facilitate remote participation.
