Monrovia, Liberia (12thJanuary, 2016) Contrary to speculations, the Special Presidential Task Force says investigation is still continuing in the Sable Mining bribery saga.

Montserrdo County Attorney Daku Mulbah who also serves as the lead Prosecutor in the case, said that the investigation continues, and will not close until there are convictions in the matter.

He noted that a report detailing the initial probe conducted in the matter was amongst evidence submitted to the court.

Cllr. Mulbah revealed that the investigators have declined to recommend charges against former Sen. Cletus Wotorson; Rep. Henry Fahnbulleh and National Security Agency (NSA) Director Fomba Sirleaf because of the ‘lack of sufficient evidence.’

But of course only the naive or cheerleaders of this incompetent and corrupt Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Joseph Boakai government or in fact cartel did not know that Ellen Johnson Sirleaf´s son Fumba Sirleaf´s name was only mentioned to deceive the Liberian public and the international community that Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was not carrying out her witch hunting against Varney Sherman and Alex Tyler who refused to have the Unity Party support him in his senatorial bid.

In the case of Rep. Fahnbulleh and former pro tem Wotorson, of course Ellen Johnson Sirleaf had no case on them, and so her jailed and deported Fonati Kofa who is known as a criminal in America must take instructions from corrupt Ellen. When her son stole billions of dollars and broke down NOCAL she took responsibility and instructed LACC and the Justice ministry to let her son walk scot free with impunity.

Mr. ZoedJallah, for your seeming fondness of repeatedly initiating relentless repartees, I never thought our views would align so perfectly on any significant issue as they do on the EJS – woven Global Witness wool being tightly pulled over the eyes of our suffering people. The attribution of motive for her brazen abuse of power is also on the money.

By the way, not that anyone familiar with comments by you on the Liberian conversation can honestly fault the analyses. Rather, they may demur with some of the conclusions. And that accusation can be made against most commenters, reviewers, and literary critics, (in short, all of us), because, more often than not, “conclusions” include our various attitudes to the material or matter at hand. To put it another way, “conclusions” are usually judgment calls – opinions.

The above is a long – winded way, Mr. ZoedJallah, of saying I wholeheartedly concur with this take.

Thanks Mr. Moses. I also concur with your assertion that our sometimes diverse opinions and opposing views are simply the natural phenomenon of the clashing of ideas - which according to the prophets and philosophers is the sound of freedom!!

As for the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf/Joe Boakai cartel seeking a third term through Boakai, voters must rise up against it and its corrupt-self-dealing and very sleazy establishment so forcefully that the succeeding government shall be able to easily force them to return the billions in cash they are sitting on in investments outside Liberia.

The on going case in which LIBERIA TELECOMMUNICATION CORPORATION Managing Director Sebastian Muah on Wednesday tendered his resignation amid FrontPage Africa investigation into a shoddy INVESTMENT OF US$225,000 IN A CASINO IN CENTRAL AFRICA REPUBLIC SHOULD SERVE AS EVIDENCE AS TO WHAT THE MODUS OPERANDI OF THE SIRLEAF/BOAKAI GOVERNMENT IS ALL ABOUT IN ECONOMIC TERMS! Remember Robert Sirleaf 2.5 billion as reported by the FBI or Ellen Johnson Sirleaf hospital in South Africa as reported by the media!

Accordingly, our diverse opinions, and opposing views must ensure that voters VEHEMENTLY REJECT not only this Sirleaf/Boakai corrupt cartel call government, but also their entire self-dealing and very sleazy establishment-Brumskine/Fonati Kofa and their Liberty Party, Urey, Jewel Howard, Unity Party etc. etc.!

And of course, by extension THE VEHEMENT REJECTION of the so called progressives who are now known as aiders and abetters (or "supporting cast" as Mr. Theodore Hodge labels them) of this corrupt cartel- so as to deliver "hopes of a purifying cleanse" vis a vis our national political leadership and "make Liberia great again", if we may quote political scientist Francis Fukuyama, and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump respectively.

Inelegant or not, for rhythmic effect, we say “surely, the signs are in plain sight”: after 2017, any continuation of the unethical, unaccountable, and autocratic style of EJS will pose an existential threat. We, therefore, agree, Mr. ZoedJallah, that the same old, same old misrule is a non – starter. But that our views must “Vehemently Reject” particular candidates (other than her hand – picked successor) is a tall order.

One would think the polling booth is one place where the “freedom” of voters to secretly decide their choice of public servants - representatives, senators, and president - is sacrosanct and constitutionally guaranteed. So foisting our preferences among the candidates under the guise of guiding voters to decide is not only suspect, but contrary to the truth speaking/ evangelizing and knowledge loving/ sharing roles, respectively, of the “prophets and philosophers”.

And, the hope for a better and happier Liberia, needless to say, is a collective aspiration. However, to make our country “great again” meant that it was once “great”; it contradicts the historical evidence. Anyway, my disagreement, here, isn’t an argument ender. Because like most of our opinions, the word is connotative/ subjective, or, if I may, in the eyes of the beholder.

No wonder even EJS aimed for it in her memoir “This Child Will Be Great”.

To end, if two pathologists who examined a murdered man couldn’t agree, for example, on the cause and time of his death, it is impossible for us to agree on everything concerning the 2017 elections. Nevertheless, as honest and caring conversationalists, we must maintain open minds to opposing viewpoints. After all, what a damn shame for the descent of so profound a discussion to sophistry, a supposed tendency of Socrates and other intellectuals the fifth century Greek playwright Aristophanes mocks in his "great" comedy entitled “Clouds”.

Mr. Moses, vehemently rejecting an establishment and rejecting a particular candidate are two different and separate actions. We are suggesting THE FORMER AND NOT THE LATTER! And this is in no way the "foisting of preferences amongst candidates, nor guiding voters to vote! A revolution is never targeted at any particular individual but a system, a tyranny, or a regime; despite the fact a certain individual, or a certain or a particular group may be affected. And this is the same with trashing out a political establishment. For example, that which transpired in the USA on November 8, 2016!

A country is generally great when its national security is solid, its unemployment is very very low, and its economy booms alongside its admirable diplomatie ties within the international mileu. This was the case with Liberia at least between the mid forties and througout the 60's despite its unimpressive democratic policies which was not only confine to Liberia but the entire continent and beyond.

Well, that's "great", Mr ZoeJallah, at least, we understand our positions loudly and clearly.

Kandajaba Zoebohn Zoedjallah
Mr. Moses,

We do not think it was or its a matter of us "understanding" each other´s "position", nor is it a matter of "agreement or disagreement". For our respective positions have since been made manifest at the onset of this discussion. For example, mine position was made clear in my exchange with Mr. Theodore Hodge in these words:

As for naming or even "putting forward a preferred candidate", we actually may not be keen to such, since in fact politicians (eg. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Joseph Boakai, Amos Sawyer etc.) have often proven to be power-seeking hypocrites who conceal personal ambition behind the rhetoric of public advocacy and ideological conviction!

Hence, amid the current political decay the nation faces, we rather debate issues as fusing legislative, executive, and judicial powers into the legislature in order to REDUCE presidential powers as is the case in most modern democracies in Europe. Or at least debates on a rotational presidency as done in Switzerland.

And here infra is your "position" in quotation in the very discussion with Mr. Hodge:

"By the way, on the presidential race, you have already made a strong case for an independent assessment of Joseph Boakai. Don't revisit that issue. For like in the US presidential race, pundits can pontificate till hell freezes over, in the final analysis, the Liberian electorates are the final arbiters of who becomes president.

Whether Boakai, Weah, Urey, Brumskine, Jones, Cummings, or whomsoever, that's left with the vast majority. For heaven's sake, let the majority will prevail.

As observers we can only help the process by vigilantly ensuring that they vote without hindrance, and the ballot boxes aren't later damaged or thrown in some forest, or the ocean. Simply put, free, fair, and ethically - conducted presidential elections are definitely the insurance policies against violence, and chaos."

So you see, Mr. Moses, it is not a matter of "understanding" nor "disagreement" vis a vis our individual positions! Rather, it is perhaps your oversight or otherwise in not distinguishing an ESTABLISHMENT from a FACE of an ESTABLISHMENT who has to be an individual. Tipoteh is a face of the Progressive Establishment in LIBERIA.Like Joe Boakai, Jewel Howard Taylor, Brumskine,Benoni Urey, and Robert Sirleaf are faces of the Liberian political establishment!

And so, when you say "After all, what a damn shame for the descent of so profound a discussion to sophistry", we say to you IT IS YOU who in your seeming inability to distinguish an establishment from a face of an establishment, resort to such "sophistry" as:

"But that our views must “Vehemently Reject” particular candidates (other than her hand – picked successor) is a tall order".

Mr.Moses, ours is a constitution which does not allow the hand-picking of a presidential successor". This is "sophistry"(a cleaver argument which is false)ON YOUR PART!

Now that we have intimated to you the above, let us explicate examples of an ESTABLISHMENT AND A FACE OF AN ESTABLISHMENT hereunder:

Hilary Clinton and Jeb Bush are FACES of the ESTABLISHMENT in the USA. and this is why a radical outsider (Donald Trump) was able to tap into the anger or resentment of the working class against THE ESTABLISHMENT and emerge victorious both within his own party the Republican Party and on the national plane in toto!

Joe Boakai, Charles Brumskine, Benoni Urey, Jewel Howard Taylor, Robert Sirleaf, etc. etc. are ALL FACES of the Liberian political establishment, despite the fact they are different and distinct individuals in their own rights. And this is why VP Joe Boakai´s chances for winning is almost impossible! And this is also why OTHER FACES OF THE ESTABLISHMENT (Brumskine, Urey, Taylor) of an establishment so vehemently resented By Liberian voters as made evident in the Weah vs Robert Sirleaf senatorial race)STAND A VERY POOR CHANCE IN WINNING IF THE 2017 ELECTION IS FREE AND FAIR!

To sum up, Mr. Moses, we hope in any future "repartee" you must:

(1) ensure your complete comprehension of the key concepts (eg.establishment, a face of an establishment, or individual candidate) viz the given "Repartee" before:

(2) wrongly attributing the act of "sophistry" to others when:

(3) indeed it you putting forward SUCH "SOPHISTRY"...A cleaver argument (for example hand-picking a successor By an incumbent under Liberian laws) when such argument is FALSE, considering the fact that:

(4) there is no way EJS, nor any incumbent president would "hand-pick a successor" in Liberia!! If we may quote you: " what a damn shame" on your part!

NOTE:
Item 4 supra is an indicia to let you know that as a former diplomat, we can better tell the other to "go to hell" and they become very happy to make the trip!
