|Charles Brumskine & Charles Taylor|
He was born with a golden spoon in his mouth more than 60 years ago, into the tiny but powerful minority ruling class of the exclusive Americo-Liberians/Congua. He never denounced the repressive policies of the Congua-only one party state hegemony that turned natives/tribal or country people into slaves. President Charles DB King sold natives as slave. His kind forced natives to pay taxes when the lack of good roads, schools and healthcare, but he now professes to care about were the sole entitlements of his congua elites in their urban locals, and nonexistent in the natives countryside.
So where was Charles Walker Brumskine at the time he said Joseph Boakai was "poor" then, or before the 1980 PRC Revolution that has enabled Brumskine to now run his mouth on "Uncle" Joe Boakai in multi-party elections?
So yes, this election, correctly as Brumskine characterized it, is about "Native/Country people versus the Congo people."
It is interesting that Brumskine knows the salary of the "Office of the Vice President" for the last three years but he does not know or he pretends not to know the salary or "Office Budget of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs/Executive Mansion" which is in the $100 million dollars range for the same period. This is the ultimate hypocrisy and arrogance of the Congua as exhibited by this political "Saul" now turned "Paul."
Mr. Brumskine has "thrown stones where he was hiding his money."
If Joe Boakai was "poor" before 1980, then let us x-ray Brumskine's spoiled-brat, privileged family background. His father, Hannibal Brumskine, was the True Whig Party "Representative" for Grand Bassa County for many years when "Weleemongar" could not vote, run for office, let alone form an opposition political party against the exclusive Congua-only True Whig Party regime.
His uncle, Phillip Brumskine was Executive Secretary to the longest serving dictator in Liberian history, the high school dropout, ruthless, cigar-puffing, womanizing President William VS Tubman who ruled the country with an iron hand for 27 years. Phillip Brumskine was Grand Master of the Congua Masonic Craft which ran the True Whig Party and the state by extension.
His other uncle, Walter Brumskine was a medical doctor. Yet Brumskine denied he was born with a silver/golden spoon in his mouth. His political or family connection helped to send him for studies in America. Did Joe Boakai have such opportunities/privileges growing up in Foyah, Lofa County before 1980?
When Mr. Brumskine's Liberty Party General Secretary Israel Akinsanya "got" a $700,000.00 loan which landed Israel in jail for failure to repay the loan, Brumskine worked out a deal with Ellen that got Israel out of jail. Akinsanya than got a fat managerial job at the then lucrative and later bankrupt National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL); thanks to Ellen's beloveth golden boy son Robert Sirleaf who ran NOCAL underground. Robert was never audited nor indicted because he is Congua.
And then Brumskine himself was handsomely rewarded with a job as "lawyer" for iron ore giant Acelor Mittal. Brumskine bragged that his salary at Mittal was his biggest paycheck ever in Liberia. All of this came about after Brumskine was denied his "promised" job by Ellen as an ECOWAS Vice President. Brumskine returned from Abuja, Nigeria empty-handed and bad-mouthed Ellen, only for them to settle their "palava" the old Congua "cousin" way, and followed with Akinsanya going to NOCAL and Brumskine to Mittal.
Action speaks louder than words. Brumskine can rant all he wants and deny being supported by Ellen. When Medina Wisseh, Musa Bility, Jeremiah Sulunteh, Harrison Karnwea and others are leaving Boakai and the Unity Party for Brumskine and other Congua candidates, and Ellen has not publicly denied the "EL-They-Say" rumor mill, that is the "evidence" of his guilty outburst. We will not forget come October 10, 2017.
Oh yes, how times have changed indeed---thanks to Samuel Doe and the long overdue 1980 PRC coup---that a Brumskine and a Boakai are competing for the presidency of Liberia which was the sole preserve of the Congua. The True Whig Party is not banned but Brumskine, Ellen and the other Congua have jumped ship and won’t want to go down with a sinking ship. So he is now rattled, nervous and agitated that the presidency could be slipping away from the Congua and therefore he is sounding un-presidential and raining insults on native Joe Boakai.
We urge Vice President NOT to lower himself to the un-presidential level and panicking of Charles Brumskine but maintain his usual Joe Boakai presidential and diplomatic calmness. Indeed, Brumskine just cast the first stone at Boakai. He still lives in the pre-1980 past that will NEVER return. Mr. Brumskine needs to get ready for what will come his way from the "country/native."
