Since the official launch of campaign on 15 August, the grassroots support for Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Unity Party has continued to widen in both rural and urban areas.

The leading female politician is said to be gaining more support across the country as the campaign progresses due to her political prudence which people believe has given her an advantage over other presidential candidates.

The latest reports reaching THE FORUM from Nimba, Bong and other leeward counties, indicate that the UP flag bearer is winning more supporters who have reportedly pledged their unflinching commitment to cast their votes for Mrs. Sirleaf at the poll.

The growing support for UP is said to stem from its standard bearer’s principle-mindedness which many citizens believe has won her admiration to be the one to lead Liberia from the slumber of war.

“Ellen is the best choice for the race despite mounting allegations from cynics that she had aided instabilities in the country over the years,” Benedict Jackson remarked in central Liberia during one of UP’s campaign trail recently.

Media reports both in print and electronic have also shown that Mrs. Sirleaf is topping opinion poll at different fronts. On a local radio talk show-50-50 held recently in Monrovia, UP was noted as one of the leading parties that has been making positive impact in the campaign for the Executive Mansion.
